Help permanently protect the Seal River Watershed!
The Seal River Watershed is one of the last great intact natural places of its size left in the world. It is home to vibrant cultures and thriving wildlife, and remains free from industrial development.
Nestled deep within northern Manitoba lies a 12-million-acre landscape of forests, wetlands, lakes, streams, and rivers — waters that flow for more than 200 miles until they reach their destination of Hudson Bay. This area is known as the Seal River Watershed, and it is a very special portion of the Boreal Forest in Canada.
With the support of the governments of Manitoba and Canada, four Indigenous Nations — Sayisi Dene First Nation, Northlands Denesuline First Nation, Barren Lands First Nation, O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation — are leading the vision to protect the watershed, supported by Nature Canada, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) and many others. They are engaging with the public to share their feedback. Show your support!
Public feedback is now open. Anyone from Canada can fill out the survey because protecting this watershed matters to everyone. The deadline is June 2, 2026.
