Take Action

Show your support for a climate adaptation strategy that protects nature!

The federal government is set to launch its first-ever climate adaptation strategy this fall. But the plan won’t succeed unless it protects the forests, wetlands, grasslands, coastlines and oceans upon which we - and all species depend.

In Canada, our climate is warming twice as fast as the global average.

Floods, fires, droughts and heatwaves linked to climate change are causing great harm to people, communities, wildlife and nature across Canada. The damage and destruction to all species and ecosystems will only get worse as a planet warms.

Canada must do everything it can to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are heating our planetand to protect humans and all species from the impacts of warming that is already locked in.

One of the best ways to reduce global warming and protect against extreme climate impacts is to protect natural areasforests, wetlands, grasslands, coastlines and oceans that prevent or limit  erosion, floods, fires, heatwaves and droughts.

In other words, Canada can both limit warming and protect communities by meeting our commitment to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030.

Join with over 90 nature groups from across Canada in asking the federal government to put action to protect nature and all species at the centre of Canada’s new national adaptation strategy, and to ensure that the strategy protects, restores and better manages the forests, wetlands, rivers, grasslands, coastlines and oceans upon which our survival depends.
